Strathfield Food Safari

If I were into hash tags, #PerksOfTheJob would be all over this.

Every year, Strathfield Council and the publisher of local paper Strathfield Scene produce the Strathfield Good Food Guide.

This is a guide on dining in the Strathfield area.  It is available online for free (link is below).

This guide has street cred, with an introduction by Sydney food scene doyenne Joanna Savill, and an independent team of 5-star eaters compiling listings by cuisine of choice local eats.

I had a very small but very fun part to play in this food guide.  I was delighted when Boss Editor invited me to be a guest writer of the Strathfield food safari article, which is included in the guide every year.

My brief?  To:

  • devise a food tour in the Strathfield area for myself, accompanied by a photographer and the associate editor;
  • drive around while on tour in a Kia Sportage SUV, provided by sponsor Kia, and
  • write about it.

This is what went to print: The Strathfield Food Safari.

From that link, you will also get to see the rest of the Strathfield Good Food Guide.  Keep it handy for your next foray into Sydney’s inner west.

This is an independent, uncommissioned blog post.  FITK received no financial benefit from the Strathfield Good Food Guide or Kia Motors for this blog post.

Go on, leave a comment and make my day.
